It is understood that many of the people who are taking an online class, will at some point have a conflict in their schedule and will not be able to participate in the online program and will in fact be forced to skip a class.
However, this is a problem that can be easily resolved as now the professors of many of these online classes that you are taking will rebroadcast the lecture or are able to get you the materials you missed electronically and therefore it will be as close to being in the class as possible.
Therefore, you will not need to jeopardize your job for education and you will not need to miss an online class for your job any longer.
What you will need to realize however, is that there is attendance taken at many of the online class options you will take and they do expect you to be able to attend a majority of these.
Of course, there will be exceptions and an occasional absence is understood.
But take into account that this is still school, and just because you are not at a traditional institution, you will still need to meet the requirements of the school and the professor in order to get credit for your education.
Make sure that the requirements of the online class are met and do not attempt to take advantage of the system.
In the long term, it will not only affect you but it will also create the stigma that the online degree and classes ware not really performing, as they should. In essence, do not ruin something that is beneficial to many people so, you may decide to not use your investment and attending online class, because you do not feel the need or want to do so.
