Not long ago, Barbie dolls were 'it'.
From the 1950's to the start of this millennium, every girlie girl wanted Barbie, the car, the trailer, the massive wardrobe, and.
.
.Ken (sigh).
This toy was what every little girl wanted and it was partly because Barbie was perfect with her gorgeous flowing hair and tall, lean frame with countless outfits and high heeled shoes.
Today, while she still remains a popular doll, more girls are increasingly attracted to Bratz dolls.
Why? A Bratz doll is much more individual. They come with many of the same accessories, which let little girls dream and role play but these dolls have been given unique personalities, which makes them a lot more fun to play with.
Not every girl has blond hair, blue eyes, and a perfect body. While the Bratz dolls don't exhibit all sorts of body types, they are different in that they have varying eye color, hair color, and attitudes. In the 50's girls often aspired to the same type of lifestyle as a single young woman but today, we're teaching our daughters and nieces that you can be who you want to be and that being different from others plus expressing your individuality is a good thing.
Who Are Cloe, Sasha, Jade, and Yasmin?
Cloe, Sasha, Jade, and Yasmin are dolls that are different from one another so many little girls will want a doll that resembles her own features or personality or will want to collect all of them.
Once you delve into the world of the Bratz, you'll see that with games, accessories, and various doll styles and sizes.
Some parents are a bit put 'off' at the start when they hear the name or see that the dolls wear a lot of make-up and seem, at first glance, to be promiscuous but in reality, these dolls are girls that are all about expressing their individuality instead of suggesting that every girl conform to what society believes is the perfect female.
This toy line offers video games, unique boy dolls (not just a single "Ken" option, either.
) and a movie about the characters as well as a bedroom accessory line.
Barbie is still a classic but many Moms who want their daughter to see that it is OK to be unique might gravitate to giving her a variety of dolls to play with.
